The academic program at the Middle Academy is centered on the Middle Years Programme (MYP) developed by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). This program emphasizes deep disciplinary (content) knowledge, while emphasizing the transdisciplinary (connected) nature of learning between and among discrete academic disciplines. Students will take courses in Spanish, English Language and Literature, Individuals and Societies (History), Mathematics, Sciences, Design, Arts and Physical and Health Education.

The academic program is wrapped in the understanding that students will study all subjects with the expressed goal of increasing their understanding of the content and their international mindedness. Students will explore their curriculum through the lens of historical and current global topics in an effort to encourage and inspire them to to take action locally and globally. They will participate in an inquiry-based, highly collaborative environment that challenges them to work with their peers in a variety of ways.
