Spanish Language Study

 

In order to truly prepare our students to be global citizens in the future all students at SIA will learn Spanish on a daily basis.

 

Primary Academy - The program is facilitated primarily through immersion conversations, songs, games and fun activities. Students receive 120 minutes of Spanish instruction weekly.

 

*Middle Academy - This program focuses on the development of the Spanish language through immersion conversations, academic language and the exploration of traditionally Spanish-speaking cultures. Students receive 180 minutes of weekly instruction. Commitment at this level is vital in preparation for their immersive, travel, and service learning experience to a Spanish-speaking country at the culmination of 8th grade. Past trips have included the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Peru, and Ecuador.

High School - Students continue their study of Spanish through Year 3 and 4 during their Freshman and Sophomore years.

*Students have the opportunity to earn High School foreign language credits by completing Spanish 1 and 2.
